About Me

I have been an IT Project Manager for over 15 years but was originally a developer (mid->late '90s). As part of my personal development, I am revisiting coding using HTML, CSS and JavaScript as languages and GitHub as my version management tool. My long term goal is to move back in to front-end development.

In order to learn, I am following the #100DaysOfCode philosphy and using SoloLearn and freeCodeCamp as my training platforms. So far I have learnt:

and have completed the the freeCodeCamp Responsive Web Design and Javascript Algorithms And Data Structures Certifications.

I am now looking at Bootstrap, JavaScript (this website uses both technologies) and Angular as well as using Frontend Mentor to cement my knowledge in "real world" examples.

Personal Projects

As part of my personal development I have a number of personal projects that I am wokring on (this profile page is one of them). I am using these to put in to practice some of the techniques I have learnt from the courses I have completed (alongside wider reading).

The pages to the right are the projects I am currently working on, one being a development site for the church I attend (and whose website I maintain) and the second being the area I try new skills/techniques on.

Feel free to have a look at my work, I can be contacted on any of the usual Social Media platforms or via email.

freeCodeCamp Responsive Web Design Projects

As part of the freeCodeCamp Responsive Web Design certificate there are 5 projects that need to be completed, tested and submitted, These projects cover all of the elements the course goes over and are used to confirm learning. The images below are links to the web pages built for these projects (I will add new links as/when the projects are complete).

freeCodeCamp Front End Libraries Projects

As part of the freeCodeCamp Front End Libraries certificate there are 5 projects that need to be completed, tested and submitted, These projects cover all of the elements the course goes over and are used to confirm learning. The images below are links to the web pages built for these projects (I will add new links as/when the projects are complete).

Frontend Mentor Challenges

Frontend Mentor provides a number of challenges to help cement HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills. For each challenge you are provided with a design specification (fonts to use, colour schemes etc.), any site-specific images and an image of the layout you need to achieve. You then develop the HTML/CSS/Javascript to deliver the "brief". The images below link to the challenges I have completed.

Certificates

The images below show the certificates for any training courses I have completed.
